WWE Royal Rumble 2025 Match Result: DIY Retains the Tag Team Championship Title

The 2025 Royal Rumble is currently ongoing, and after a spectacular kickoff of the show with the Women's Rumble, the next match of the night turned out to be the Two out of Three Falls match between #DIY and Motor City Machine Guns for the WWE Tag Team Championship. The reigning champions - Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa were challenged for the title by Motor City Machine Guns' Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin. Ans looks like we have a winner.

It was a Two out of Three Falls match, and the very first round was ready to show the audience why this match was selected for this event. Alex Shelley from MCMG was the first person in, but #DIY held out in revealing who it was that was really going to get in the right first. Gargano and Ciampa executed a perfect fake tag that had Shelley thinking Gargano was the legal person in. But Gargano didn't tag in, letting Ciampa catch the challenger off guard.
The first round saw #DIY's Tommaso Ciampa take the win over MCMG using pinfall with a knee trembler on Alex Shelley.
The second round of the match saw Ciampa and Shelley inside the ring. Gargano finally gets tagged in and now he is the one going after Shelley. Sabin and Ciampa, on the other hand, are at it as well. In the chaos, referee Ryan Tran didn’t see a tag between Shelley and Sabin, waving the latter off. But crawling his way through, Shelley finally makes the tag and Sabin comes in with a vengeance.
The second round saw MCMG win by a pinfall with Skull and Bones on Johnny Gargano.
The final round of the Two of Three Falls match was nail-biting, to say the least. With a 1-1 score going in, both #DIY and MCMG are giving it their all. But it all turns in the favor of one team when a hooded figure runs interference - who we find out is Montez Ford of the Street Profits. They are back, and we will have more of them. But this interference worked in favor of #DIY, who took full advantage.

#DIY win the third and final fall by pinfall with Meet in the Middle on Alex Shelley.
With a 2-1 score, #DIY retain their WWE Tag Team Championship and showed why they are one of the best Tag Teams of this generation.
