The next episode of
Monday Night Raw is upon us, and there are some exciting matches we are all looking forward to. WWE Women's Intercontinental Champion, Lyra Valkyria, is set to face off against Bayley for a chance to compete at next month's PLE. While Rey Mysterio goes against Logan Paul for a chance at redeeming himself after the Rumble loss. But let's take a look back at the previous week, when Kevin Owens attacked his "friend" Sami Zayn, leading the crew to take the latter out of the stage in a stretcher.
Kevin Owens's package piledriver was brutal for Sami Zayn
Last week's RAW took place in the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio. The Chaos in Cleveland show saw Jey Uso and Charlotte Flair setting their sights for
WrestleMania 41. Uso and Gunther exchanged a few heated words, as did Flair and Rhea Ripley. CM Punk clashed with Sami Zayn while IYO SKY took on Liv Morgan. But the moment of shock came when Kevin Owens attacked Zayn after the fight with a package piledriver that sent the latter packing.
After the Monday night blowout, Owens came back on Friday Night SmackDown, this time to cut a promo. An emotional KO was sitting in a car, hurt and destroyed after losing to Cody Rhodes during the Royal Rumble Ladder match. He blamed Zayn for the loss and called him a horrible friend, by who he felt betrayed.
The relationship between Owens and Zayn has always been of frenemies. They are friends who are sometimes there for each other; other times, they cannot stand the sight of one another. And it seems like the next bout will be something similar, as chances of yet another face-off between these two seems inevitable.
Kevin Owens says his loss was Sami Zayn's fault
In the promo by Kevin Owens that was aired during the last Friday Night SmackDown episode, after his
brutal loss at the hands of Cody Rhodes during the Royal Rumble Ladder match, the wrestling veteran was awfully distraught. And according to him, it was all Zayn's fault. He said:
"It's all your fault. Because Sami, you stood there and watched while Cody tried to end my career. Worse, you know, I think he was actually trying to end ... And you stood there and did nothing. And later on, I watched the Royal Rumble match, and what do I see, but you are rushing to the aid of Roman Reigns because someone's beating him up in the corner. But for me, you did nothing."
He said that the two of them had been through a lot together. Buy they had never been through what happened at the Rumble. He called Zayn "a horrible friend and a disgusting human" and that he will never forgive him. Where this story leads to next will be anticipated by the fans. For now, RAW returns tonight at the Bridgestone Arena, Nashville.
