WrestleMania is one of the biggest spectacles, in not just wrestling, but all of sports entertainment. It has for 40 years, entertained the audience worldwide and has brought an endless number of people to watch what wrestling business is all about. Now, according to a press release by the London government, there may be positive talks going around to bring WrestleMania to the capital of England and The United Kingdom; London.
WWE has had super hit shows in all of Europe, like Clash at the ‘Castle in Scotland’, ‘Backlash’ in France and Berlin all set to host ‘Bash at Berlin’ next month. Now, WWE is giving it a serious thought to bring Wrestlemania to the UK's Capital London. In 2025, Las Vegas will host WWE’s biggest PLE Wrestlemania, the year following that could see the grandest stage of them all in WWE be hosted by London. According to a press release by the London Government, WWE President Nick Khan has met with the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan. WWE Chief Content Officer
Paul Levesque aka ‘Triple H’ was also there. There have been positive discussions of possibly making London host a future Wrestlemania. Mayor Sadiq Khan was quoted as saying “London has great Pedigree in hosting the biggest International Sporting events from around the globe and I am determined to cement our city’s reputation as the Undisputed sports capital of the world, as we work together for a better London for everyone” he also stated ‘it is exciting to be working with the WWE team. The meeting was really productive and talks will continue about how we could turn our ambition into a reality’.
Notably, London had hosted SummerSlam 1992, at the Wembley stadium, which Paul Levesque pointed out as well. He stated ‘WWE and London have a long and fruitful history together’. After coming out of the meeting with Sadiq Khan, WWE President Nick Khan stated that more discussions were required, but as of right now things appear promising. He said “ Sadiq Khan and his team are working hard on positioning London as a sports and entertainment capital of Europe, and it has been great to hear more on his vision for how WWE can support them on that journey”.
In April this year, the WWE live shows took place in Birmingham, London and Cardiff. All the events were jampacked. It is not a hidden fact that WWE is loved religiously throughout the United Kingdom and bringing Wrestlemania to its capital city is going to give a lot of joy to the fans present there and all around the world.
