WWE Hall of Famer Jesse Ventura recently returned to WWE during Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 16, 2024. This was the first time the show aired in prime time since 2008. Ventura’s comeback was made possible through a WWE Legends contract, which his son, Tyrel Ventura, helped arrange. After years of being away due to disagreements with the company, Ventura is now excited about this new chapter in his career.
Moving Past Old Feuds, Jesse Ventura Makes Emotional Comeback
Ventura spoke about his difficult past with WWE, particularly with Vince McMahon, which kept him away for years. In an interview with Busted Open Radio, Ventura shared:
“I have mixed emotions about it. I will say this, several weeks ago when I first made contact and I went to I think it was Raw… what impressed me the most when I went over there, was that when I arrived at the arena, Triple H was there to greet me. He was there waiting for me and that made me feel wanted.”Embracing the New Generation and Praising WWE Leadership
On his Substack, Ventura expressed his happiness about coming back, writing, “First of all, it was truly an honor to come back home to the WWE. First off, I have to thank my son, Tyrel Ventura, for putting the wheels in motion last summer.”
He added, “It’s been such an incredible feeling to return to the place where my career essentially began or, more accurately, really took off from.”
Ventura also communicated how WWE feels different now compared to his early days. He wrote, “You don’t feel a battle of egos like you often did back in my day. From the executive level to the locker room level, you instead feel a very strong sense of teamwork and creativity. Everyone is running in the same direction. Fueled by a desire to see everyone succeed, not just themselves.”
Ventura credited WWE’s leadership for building this positive environment, stating, “I think this speaks volumes about the leadership of Paul ‘HHH’ Levesque. I think Paul, Nick Khan, and the team at WWE are creating a truly incredible and unique environment unlike any I have seen before in the world of wrestling.”
He continued, “I loved being backstage and sharing stories, advice, and laughs with some of this generation’s new talent.”
Ventura’s return is not just a one-time event. He is prepared to appear on at least four episodes of Saturday Night’s Main Event, with the next appearance on January 25, 2025. This return indicates a fresh start for Ventura, as he has moved past old conflicts and embraced a new role in WWE. His journey is a strong reminder that it's possible to make peace and that wrestling legends have a lasting impact.
