NEW DELHI: In an entertainment industry driven by numbers and endless PR opportunities, American celebrities - sportspersons and Hollywood A-listers alike - stepping into ‘foreign territory’ while on promotional tours is nothing alarming.

The latest global superstar to spend a few minutes with a hitherto unknown object in his hand is WWE legend John Cena, who during his time in Australia promoting his upcoming film Ferdinand took to cricket with the help from a famous Australian cricketer, Shane Watson.

Watson, retired from international cricket but captaining the Sydney Thunder in the

, was on hand to show Cena how to hold a cricket bat — but as visuals show from their time in a Sydney park, the WWE giant did not quite perfect his bat-lift.

Watch below as the 40-year-old Cena has a hit with a cricket bat.

Fans of professional wrestling in India are gearing up for the WWE Live show on December 9 - incidentally the same day the BBL begins in Australia - in New Delhi, featuring a roster of big names such as Jinder Mahal, Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, Braun Strowman, Alexa Bliss, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, The Miz, Sasha Banks and Bayley.
