McMahon scheduled a 3-on-1 handicap match pitting himself, his son Shane, and Umaga against Lashley with his ECW title on the line. Lashley was not able to survive the odds and McMahon pinned him to become the new champion.

On a 1999 episode of WWE SmackDown, Vince McMahon was scheduled to face Triple H for the WWE Championship. While The Game dominated McMahon for the majority of the match, he managed to pin Triple H after he was taken down by Stone Cold Steve Austin. This led to Vince pinning Triple H’s shoulders to the mat for the three count and becoming the WWE Champion in one of the most shocking moments of the company.
