Tommy Dreamer Praises CM Punk's Promo: 'It’s Real and Authentic'

On a recent episode of Busted Open After Dark, former WWE star Tommy Dreamer shared his thoughts on CM Punk’s latest promo from WWE Raw, praising the former champion for his compelling mic skills and authenticity. Dreamer also discussed the Fanatics Fest and CM Punk's ongoing dispute with The Scottish Warrior Drew McIntyre. The former WWE Champion CM Punk has consistently upheld his reputation as one of the best speakers in the wrestling world. Dreamer commended Punk’s promo for having a thread of truth woven into it.

Dreamer said - "The best part about CM Punk and CM Punk's promo is it's real. He also stops and he listens to the crowd and he listens to the people ... He stops and he listens to the crowd. He pauses. He acknowledges. He doesn't just continue on scripted promo. And yes, he may think of stuff that goes on in his head, but this is a guy who made famous with the pipe bomb. But I want to talk specifically about [Monday] and [Monday's] promo. Everything that CM Punk says I always listen to because it has bits and pieces of reality. That's how it's supposed to be done, ladies and gentlemen."


In one segment, Punk mentioned that several fans presented him custom-made bracelets, reminiscent of those created by Taylor Swift fans, and referenced his own bracelet, currently being held hostage by McIntyre. He also pondered over some memorable fan interactions from the recent Fanatics Fest in New York City, an event that was a big success for WWE talents. Before sharing his story, Punk did something rare in the business, he formally asked the crowd for permission to speak, a gesture that Dreamer found noteworthy.

"That's really the promo of he's going to take that time, he is going to enjoy himself," Dreamer said. "It's like he commands the stage and truthfulness." CM Punk is a great speaker in wrestling. Tommy Dreamer thinks Punk’s recent speech was excellent because it was honest and he connected with the fans. Fans gave Punk special bracelets, showing their love and admiration for him. This shows how popular Punk still is.
