A new docuseries about former WWE chairman Vince McMahon premiered on Netflix on September 25, 2024, sparking curiosity among fans and wrestling insiders. WWE veteran Vince Russo, who served as head writer in the late 1990s, expressed confusion over reports that McMahon allegedly wanted to prevent the series from airing. Some reports even suggest that McMahon attempted to buy the project from Netflix.
Despite covering various misconduct allegations, much of the information presented in the docuseries was already public, leaving Russo puzzled as to why McMahon had concerns about its release.

According to reports from Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer, Vince McMahon allegedly approached Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel, requesting Netflix to cancel the docuseries about his life. Additionally, Matthew Belloni of the Puck Newsletter claimed that McMahon even attempted to purchase the project from Netflix to prevent it from airing.
Former WWE writer Vince Russo, on his YouTube channel, questioned why McMahon had an issue with the content of the six-part series, especially considering that much of the information covered was already public knowledge. Russo stated:

“They covered those allegations in a factual way. They did not lean one way or the other. I'm disconnecting with Vince when he put out that statement, 'Don't believe everything you see. They slanted it with a narrative.' This and that. I didn't see any narrative, bro. I didn't see any narrative at all. As Russo mentioned, McMahon issued a statement just before the docuseries was released. The former WWE Chairman asserted that:

Vince Russo went on to explain why the former McMahon shouldn't have any concerns with how Netflix Docuseries:
