Summer Rae Recalls The Great Khali’s Hilarious WWE Inspiration

WWE has always had various big superstars, and Summer Rae got to know many of them during her time in the company. She was best known for managing Fandango, but she also spent time around some of WWE’s biggest wrestlers, like The Big Show, Mark Henry, and The Great Khali.

During an interview, Summer Rae shared a hilarious story from a WWE tour in Europe. She was on a bus with Mark Henry and The Great Khali when she asked Khali how he started wrestling. His answer was so unexpected that it made Mark Henry laugh harder than she had ever seen before.

The Great Khali’s Unexpected WWE Dream

The Great Khali is known for being quiet. He doesn’t talk a lot and only speaks when he wants to. Summer Rae described his personality, saying:

"Khali's really sweet but, you know, he's not spitting out paragraphs of intelligent information, he's speaking when he wants to speak, and he very rarely speaks up," she said during an interview with Dr. Beau Hightower.


But when she asked him how he got into wrestling, he shared a story that shocked everyone.

"I asked Khali, when did you start wrestling, and he said, 'when I was a little boy in India, we were really poor, and we had a really, really small TV ... and you know what I saw when I turned it on? I saw this beautiful girl with a bunch of sushi on her and Mark Henry, 'Sexual Chocolate' ate it off of her. I thought if I can do this [wrestling], I can get girls like that,'" she narrated.

Hearing this, Mark Henry couldn’t stop laughing, even though he is usually calm and serious.

"I have never seen Mark laugh so hard ... Khali's like, 'I wanted to be 'Sexual Chocolate,'" Rae recalled.

Summer Rae’s Life Around WWE’s Biggest Stars

Throughout her WWE career, Summer Rae was always surrounded by entertaining and unpredictable superstars. Whether managing Fandango or interacting with larger-than-life figures like Khali and Henry, she often found herself in funny and unexpected situations.

Summer Rae also had wild experiences beyond WWE. While traveling with former WWE star Tenille Dashwood, she had a scary hotel encounter.

One night, they woke up to a noise and saw a bat flying around their room! They used a broom to get rid of it, but the whole situation left Summer Rae shaken.



Getting back to Khali, while he is known for his dominant WWE presence, stories like these reveal his humor behind the scenes. His journey from humble beginnings in India to wrestling stardom is impressive, but his inspiration from the “Sexual Chocolate” gimmick makes it even funnier.

Mark Henry, known for his strength and comedy, clearly enjoyed the story. Though Khali rarely speaks, when he does, it’s always memorable.

Now, Summer Rae has moved on to media, while Khali remains a respected figure in wrestling. He may not talk much, but when he does, it’s always worth hearing!
