Former WWE Superstar Santino Marella recently revealed that he pitched a unique idea to WWE for a potential return at the 2024 Royal Rumble. The Milan Miracle suggested a father-daughter tag team entry, teaming up with his own daughter, NXT star Arianna Grace. While Santino's idea ultimately didn't come to fruition, it highlights his continued connection to the wrestling world and his desire to share the ring with his daughter.
Arianna Grace Joins Santino Marella for a Royal Rumble WWE Legacy Match
Santino Marella was questioned about the possibility of attending this year's Royal Rumble Premium Live Event during an interview with the No Name Wrestling podcast. Although Marella acknowledged that he hasn't heard back from WWE yet, he suggested that he and his daughter, Arianna Grace, make a comeback at this year's Royal Rumble.
Marella came up with the concept of a father and daughter competing in the same Rumble match, which would be a first for WWE. Santino is eager to attend and share the experience with his daughter, who has returned to the ring following shoulder surgery but has not yet made her official re-debut.
“Well, they haven’t called yet. I did, though. My daughter—she had a little shoulder surgery. She’s back in the ring now, but she hasn’t re-debuted yet. So, I’ve been pitching the idea. I don’t think it’s ever been done before: a father and daughter in the same Royal Rumble. It’d be a great way for her to return to programming, and I’m totally down to show up and just experience it.”
Since joining the TNA family a few years ago, Santino Marella has served as Director of Authority, making tough but reasonable match decisions. The fact that he and his daughter Arianna Grace shared a moment at TNA's Victory Road event delighted fans as well.
