WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam still brings wows and cheers from fans. The superstar recently had a chat with the Cheap Heat Productions Podcast where he shared details of the current status of his career.
“The first time that I talked to Tony Khan about doing this (working with AEW), a factor was that I still have a WWE Legends deal,” Van Dam said during his interview.
Van Dam further explained that his involvement with AEW is somewhat restricted, especially when it comes to merchandise like video games and action figures. “So, my use to AEW would be limited as far as they can’t put me on video games, action figures, stuff like that,” he continued.
The legendary star noted that while his role with AEW has its limits, he also appreciates being able to navigate both companies, which he considers the best of both worlds. So, you could say it’s limited on both ends or you could say I got both ends going, best of both worlds. Or you could just say RVD does whatever he wants,” Van Dam added.
For context, typically, a Legends contract entails a superstar receiving an upfront fee to cover royalties for appearances in video games and retail sales, with the contract allowing WWE to use their likeness on merchandise like t-shirts. While not every wrestling legend has a Legends Contract, many prominent superstars have signed the contract. Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page has recently revealed that he has signed the contract after WWE’s latest PLE, Bad Blood.rob van d
