Ric Flair Drops Bombshell about Charlotte Flair’s WWE Dream
We have not seen Charlotte Flair inside the squared circle since she endured an injury in her last match against Asuka in 2023. The star wrestler suffered from a torn MCL, ACL, and meniscus or a total knee blowout. Her absence from the ring has given rise to various speculations in recent times. Also, her cryptic social media posts sparks the possibility of a return. Since no official statement has come forward regarding her return, Ric Flair shed some light on his daughter’s WWE journey and how this was never something she wanted to do initially.
When asked about Charlotte Flair’s taking him as an inspiration to enter the world of wrestling, he stated, “No, actually, it was by accident. She’s probably one of the best athletes ever to compete in sports in a high school in the state of North Carolina, her volleyball team won two state championships at Providence. Her freshman year, I think at Providence, they took second in the state and she was the most viable player in the state.
But Ashley’s such a great athlete, she could have gone to any school in the country with three different sports: Basketball, track and field and volleyball. She winded up in gymnastics, she wanted to be a flyer and she outgrew that.”
He further stated where this inspiration came from, he stated, “She ended up coming to see my [WWE Hall of Fame] induction in 2012, my second ring for The Four Horsemen. Somebody asked her ‘Why aren’t you wrestling?’ and she walked out of the room and I could tell she was thinking about it.
She came back and said ‘Do you think I could do this?’ and I said ‘I’m sure you could do it but do you really want to?’ But she’s at the top of the hill now, the best in the business.”
