CM Punk’s first year since returning to WWE has seen him compete in a few matches and deliver some of the most captivating in-ring performances in all his years inside the Squared Circle.
CM Punk is regarded as one of the biggest yet controversial WWE superstars of all time. The Best in the World spent ten years away from the company after his abrupt exit in 2014. However, the wait to see CM Punk in WWE was finally over as he made a shocking comeback last year at the WWE Survivor Series Premium Live Event.
Despite getting injured just two months after that, Punk worked hard to get back to in-action in nearly seven months. After his comeback, he was involved in some gruesome physical bouts and delivered stellar performances to remind everyone of his status as the Best in the World. Here are CM Punk’s 6 WWE matches ranked in 2024:
5. Royal Rumble Match

He competed in the name-sake, over-the-top-rope battle royal in hopes of punching his ticket to the main event of WrestleMania. However, an untimely Future Shock DDT by Drew McIntyre led to him injuring his triceps and taking him out of action for seven months.
4. WarGames Match
Paul Heyman brought CM Punk as the unlikely fifth member to join Roman Reigns and the OG Bloodline in their match against the new Bloodline. Punk returned to the same PLE he returned to last year and brought the fight with the OG Bloodline despite some tensions with Reigns. In the end, he was on the winning side as Reigns speared Solo Sikoa to win the match for the team.
3. SummerSlam Match
After completing his rehabilitation process for his triceps injury, CM Punk’s first match came against his heated rival, Drew McIntyre, at SummerSlam. Proving his doubters wrong, Punk displayed his amazing in-ring acumen against the ruthless McIntyre. Despite losing the match, the Second City Saint made a huge statement that he could still compete at the highest level in professional wrestling.
2. Strap Match
CM Punk’s second match with Drew McIntyre took place at the WWE Bash in Berlin, PLE. But this was contested as a strap match, with McIntyre and Punk tied together to a strap, which could inflict as much pain as they could on each other. It was nothing short of a gruesome encounter in which he used the stipulation to his advantage and scored the win over Drew.
1. Hell in a Cell Match
With both men tied at 1-1, the rivalry between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre was to be settled inside a Hell in a Cell match at WWE Bad Blood PLE. It was one of the most physically battering showdowns where both men used different foreign weapons and the cage environment to put each other down. The feud finally came to an end with Punk’s victory over McIntyre which was regarded as one of his best performances in 2024.
