Paul Wight has been absent from televised wrestling since the November 15, 2023, episode of AEW Dynamite, but the veteran wrestler might be nearing a comeback. In the video, Wight is seen working out and expressing that he feels good, indicating a potential return to the ring.

Wight's most recent televised match featured him teaming up with Chris Jericho, Kota Ibushi, and Kenny Omega in a Like a Dragon Street Fight against Brian Cage and The Don Callis Family. This match was memorable for the moment when Powerhouse Hobbs slammed Wight onto a car, effectively writing him off television. Despite this, Wight did compete again afterward. During the Jericho Cruise in January of this year, he joined forces with Jericho and "Speedball" Mike Bailey to face Callis' crew, showing that he still had the ability to perform in the ring.

While it is uncertain when the former WWE star will make his next appearance in the AEW ring, Wight has made it clear that he does not intend to retire just yet. The seasoned wrestler believes he still has some gas left in the tank and aims to compete for at least another two years. Since leaving WWE and joining AEW in 2021, Wight has taken on multiple roles within the promotion, including announcing, coaching, and wrestling. His versatility and experience have been valuable assets to AEW.

Wight has also been vocal about his appreciation for Tony Khan, the president of AEW. He has praised Khan for his patience and support during his health challenges, highlighting the positive environment within the company. Wight's gratitude towards Khan underscores the strong relationship between the wrestler and the promotion, which has been crucial during his recovery process.

As fans eagerly await his return, Wight's determination and positive outlook suggest that he will be back in action sooner rather than later. His commitment to wrestling and his desire to continue competing for a couple more years demonstrate his passion for the sport and dedication to his career. For now, all eyes are on Paul Wight as he works towards making a triumphant return to the AEW ring.

Paul Wight talks about his role in AEW following his knee surgery

Following Paul Wight's knee surgery in August 2022, many AEW fans were curious about his future with the company. Recently, Wight shared that he had regained full range of motion in his knee, boosting his confidence about an imminent return to the wrestling ring. In a conversation with Denise Salcedo, Wight provided an in-depth update on his potential comeback, especially after AEW's historic event at Wembley Stadium for All In this weekend. Wight praised AEW President Tony Khan for being very understanding of his health situation.

"Tony's been extremely patient, extremely excited for a lot of plans that him and I have. He's given me the time to be prepared and present the best, my best product, and my best self forward," Wight explained. "That kind of patience is really comforting for a talent because there's always a pressure to be ready to perform, to even come back hurt. NFL players go through it. A lot of athletes go through that need to, 'I need to be there. I need to be there.'"

Wight emphasized that Khan has been supportive throughout his recovery. "At this stage of my career, it's been amazing to have somebody like Tony with his kindness and patience," Wight said. While he didn't provide specific details, Wight assured that there are plans for him to return to the ring after All In. For now, his focus is on highlighting the talent set to perform in front of more than 80,000 fans at Wembley Stadium.

"I'm happy to be here and support them and help push them forward because that's what it's about. You got to give to the future generations and you've got to push the younger forward and make the industry grow," Wight stated.
