Nic Nemeth, formerly known as Dolph Ziggler’s departure from WWE in 2023 marked the end of an era. Following his exit from the company where he had established himself as a phenomenal force to be reckoned with, Nemeth went to assume his current moniker in TNA Wrestling.

As the current reigning TNA World Champion, Nemeth is more than thriving in the new company. However, he still looks back fondly at his WWE days, where he conquered the ring as Dolph Ziggler. In a recent interview on Under The Ring, Nemeth opened up about his time at his previous company and how life has been treating him after his departure.

“It was really scary because I was in a bubble,” Nemeth says about his WWE exit

Speaking with Phil Strum of Under The Ring, Nemeth gets candid about his career post-WWE. He began, "It was really scary because I was in a bubble for 19 and a half years and I knew everybody I was wrestling no matter what the case was, even if they were a call-up from 'NXT.'"

Nemeth recalls his early fear of jumping into a whole new world after leaving a familiar place which was WWE. He admits that he had been pretty cocky during his WWE years, a notion which he soon let go. He said, “It's been very exciting and also rewarding so far because I was very nervous to say hey I talked a bunch of trash for 15 years about how I'm the best, I can go with anybody, I can beat anybody, I won't get tired, I won't get stopped, I won't get hurt, I won't take days off, and now I gotta back it up.”

He soon recognized the potential in TNA and expressed his admiration for the relentless hard work that he witnessed in the new company. He said, "So far especially with TNA it's been an absolute blast. The roster rocks, they are hardworking, they are awesome, the character pieces stand out behind the scenes, in the ring. TNA as a whole is absolutely delivering and just like on a real roll right now and I'm happy to be a small part of that.”

Nemeth recently claimed victory against Josh Alexander in a 60-minute Iron Man match at the 2024 Emergence event, effectively retaining his current title as the TNA World Champion.
