New AEW World Champion puts entire promotion's roster on notice

Jon Moxley won his 4th AEW World Championship at WrestleDream after knocking his former stablemate Bryan Danielson cold with a sleeper hold. While Bryan has seemingly retired from the promotion, Moxley’s reign of terror has just begun.

Prior to this match, Moxley and the new Blackpool Combat Club was wreaking havoc in all of AEW before he eventually challenged Darby Allin for his #1 Contender spot for the AEW World Championship. Following his victory, it’s evident that his heel run has just begun.

Jon Moxley becomes the first person to retire the American Dragon in AEW

Bryan Danielson had the clause that he’d retire the moment he lost his AEW World Championship title. However, it’s unlikely that he’ll be retiring for good, because the way the story is set up, he’ll be back for revenge after staying away from the promotion for a while.

As for Jon Moxley, it’ll be interesting to see how he addresses the crowd after the brutal match that he had with The American Dragon at WrestleDream.

The two wrestlers showcased their wrestling prowess in the ring and exhibited exemplary skill and technicality in the ring, suggesting why the two of them are considered to be the best in the business.



That said, the match signified the complete heel turn of the Blackpool Combat Club. That said, even Wheeler Yuta flipped and attacked Bryan Danielson at the end of the match. Now that this marks the start of his fourth reign as AEW World Champion, the promotion put out a post on social media that reads, “Jon Moxley is the new AEW World Champion. Nobody is safe.”

One of the key highlights of this match is that, despite being brutal, Moxley wasn’t seen bleeding in this match at all. Whenever he’s been involved in a match previously, he’s come out of most of them bleeding. That hasn’t happened in this match, but it has had the same shock effect like any of his other matches.

Now that he’s the world champion, it’ll be worth seeing how he’ll address his new run, and who’ll be making a move to challenge him for his title at this point in time.
