For months now Netflix have claimed that their upcoming docuseries titled “Mr. McMahon”, would show the real Vince McMahon. However, it doesn’t quite deliver on that promise as Vince himself claims right at the start that he won’t be telling the “real stories”. Vince also claims that he doesn’t want anybody to know the “real” him, so we can’t take his words from the documentary as the truth.

Moreover, it has been clarified that most of the interviews in Netflix’s series were conducted before Vince was accused of sexual harassment and sex trafficking. Just three minutes into the series Triple H suggests that most of what people Vince on screen is just a character and even personally people only know what he chooses to share about himself.

Because of who Vince is as a person and the timing of the interviews, Netflix haven’t been able to show the “real” Vince McMahon, but can this series still be the final “nail in the coffin” for Vince McMahon? Let’s take a look.

Will Netflix’s be the final “nail in the coffin” for Vince McMahon?

Right as the series kicks off it is made clear that most of the interviews were recorded before Janel Grant filed her lawsuit against Vince. This is followed by a segment where Vince says he wishes that he could give the real stories. But, when asked for one, he denies and says that he doesn’t really want anyone to really know him. This is a pattern that is followed throughout the series.

Each time that Vince is presented with a tough question or asked about a controversial subject, he gives his side of the story without admitting to any sort of wrongdoing. Then people who have suffered due to Vince’s actions or were there to witness these events, give their account on the whole thing. So, at the end of the day, it ends up being their word against Vince’s which can’t really be called the final “nail in the coffin”.

Most of what we get are things that are already known to the public. But it can surely be said that the series made no attempts to accuse Vince of anything or to make him hold himself accountable for everything that has unfolded during his time in WWE.
