John Cena and The Rock are two of the biggest names in WWE history. The duo have had a storied rivalry in WWE, but carried their respective generations to contribute in making WWE a global juggernaut. However, the financial numbers have always been in favor of The Final Boss instead of The Cenation. However, after the end of Cena's highly captivating farewell tour that marked the end of his in-ring career, it is intriguing to see if Cena has surpassed The Rock's fortune.
According to reports by Celebrity Net Worth, John Cena's net worth is estimated to be $80 million as of March 10, 2026. However, The Rock is still way ahead of The Never Seen 17 in terms of financial success. The Great One's net worth is estimated to be 100x Cena's, i.e., $800 million. Despite having a successful farewell tour in WWE and making huge money, Cena has a long way to go to catch up to The Rock's fortune, let alone surpass it.
The Rock and John Cena had an iconic rivalry in WWE
After being the poster boys for their respective eras in WWE, John Cena and The Rock came face-to-face for the first time in 2011. It happened after The Rock brought up the negative remarks Cena made about him years prior. The duo clashed in a 'Once in a Lifetime' dream match at WrestleMania 28, where The Great One emerged victorious.
A year later, The Rock was the WWE Champion, and Cena won the Royal Rumble, setting up a rematch for WrestleMania 29 where Cena defeated him to become the new champion. The duo also had a moment as a cohesive unit at WrestleMania 32. Cena and Rock did not come face-to-face until eight years later at WrestleMania 40 Night 2 during the main event match between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns.
The last time Cena and Rock shared the ring was at the 2025 Elimination Chamber. The night saw The Rock corrupt Cena to turn heel and brutally attack Cody Rhodes. Moreover, it marked The Rock's last appearance on TV so far; however, he is still a part of the TKO Board of Directors. On the other hand, John Cena retired from WWE at December's WWE Saturday Night's Main Event and is currently signed with the company as an ambassador.
