On Monday Night episode of WWE RAW, the vice president of announcing Michael Cole, who is a professional wrestling star himself, announced that the WWE transfer window will be closing during the Royal Rumble weekend. Multiple wrestlers have switched brands so far as part of this transfer - like some moving from SmackDown to RAW and vice versa, or others making a move from NXT to SmackDown.

WWE transfer window to close this weekend

During this week's episode of Monday Night RAW on Atlanta, Michael Cole announced that this would be the last week of the transfer window. Things for the season are going to end at the Royal Rumble weekend, which is on Feb 1 & 2. Over the last couple of months, quite a few wrestlers have changed brands, making a move from one banner to another.
All three banners under WWE - NXT, RAW, and SmackDown have seen multiple stars move from one brand to the other. But this will be the last weekend of the season, according to Cole. While quite a few changes have been made to the roster, there is not a lot of clarity regarding the rules for these transfers.

What is the WWE transfer window?

Like Soccer, the NFL, or NBA, the WWE Transfer Window is an opportunity for wrestlers to find themselves a new home. Whether to gain a fresh start or to seek new challenges, many ring stars have decided to make a move. It's not like how Penta left AEW after his contract expired to join WWE. But this is within the brands under WWE, where the wrestlers are still signed to WWE but can change homes from the inside.
During the WWE Transfer Window, stars have the freedom to move between the shows. Chad Gable first teased the concept of the transfer window when he confronted Cody Rhodes on SmackDown despite being a Raw Superstar himself. Bayley, who performs for RAW, appeared in all three brands during the 2025 transfer period.

So far, Damian Priest, Wyatt Sicks, The Miz, and Braun Strowman have made a move from RAW to SmackDown, while Logan Paul, Bayley, Austin Theory & Grayson Waller have gone in the opposite direction from SmackDown to RAW. Roman Reigns and the OG Bloodline, who currently perform under the SmackDown brand, are rumored to move to RAW, especially now that Roman Reigns has been revealed as the WWE 2K25 cover superstar.
