Mercedes Moné, also formerly known as Sasha Banks, is officially separating from her husband Sarath Ton, after eight long years of marriage. According to the court records they obtained, TMZ Sports has confirmed that the AEW star has finally filed for divorce this Tuesday in Florida, In a recent video on her YouTube channel “Mercedes Varnado”, she got candid about the divorce and what the future holds for the former couple.

Moné sported a positive outlook on the situation confirming that she bears no malice against her former husband. She did not go into the exact reason behind the split and chose to keep it private. However, it was revealed during the conversation that the couple had been separated since the end of December 2020 and that Sarath had moved out the following month.

In the video Varnado maintained that she and Sarath continue to maintain a great relationship and went on to express her admiration for him. She stated, “Sarath, my ex-husband now, we have such a great relationship, and he’s such an amazing and incredible guy that I’m so thankful for. He’s another person that changed and saved my life but I am excited to be free and to say that I’m finally getting a divorce”

Vernado spoke about how she deliberately kept this news a secret because of her wrestling commitments and also not wanting to invite judgement from the outside world. Opening up about the divorce she stated that it has made her feel free and she continues to bring out the positives of this development.
