The "Dream On" event, which was set for November 23rd at the American Dream in East Rutherford, New Jersey, was already expected to be a star-studded extravaganza. Fans were thrilled about the lineup, which included well-known wrestlers like Matt Cardona, Mance Warner, Effy, and Joey Janela. But there's no denying that
Kurt Angle's statement has elevated the show to a whole new level.
Even though Angle's exact role at the event is still unknown, his mere attendance has generated a lot of interest and conjecture among fans. Following his defeat by Baron Corbin at
WWE WrestleMania 35 in 2019, Angle formally announced his retirement from in-ring competition. Since then, he has mainly avoided the ring. He has kept a low profile since retiring and has only sometimes appeared for WWE. But what makes this event even more intriguing is that, in contrast to his recent activity, his participation in Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) is unexpected.
GCW has been gaining a lot of attention in recent months for featuring several high-profile figures from mainstream wrestling. For instance, WWE Hall of Famer JBL and TNA legend Matt Hardy have appeared at GCW events. Another notable inclusion was WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett, who had a brief yet memorable stint with the promotion. Angle’s involvement adds another layer of excitement, as GCW continues to blur the lines between mainstream and independent wrestling by showcasing these well-known names.

During a recent episode of his "Kurt Angle Show" podcast, Kurt Angle was asked about his experiences working with fellow WWE Hall of Famer Eddie Guerrero. Even after reflecting on the severe injuries Eddie sustained in a car accident while working for WCW in 1999, Angle continued to regard him as the best in the business.
"Eddie Guerrero, one of the best of all time... I don’t know if people realize this, but Eddie broke his leg and his hip when he was in WCW," Angle explained.
"When he came back, he was never quite the same. Even though he was still better than everybody else, he wasn’t the same in WWE as he had been in WCW. It slowed him down just a little, but he’s still the best of all time, because that’s how great he was." Despite these injuries, Guerrero's talent was undeniable, and Angle’s praise underscored his incredible ability.
Kurt Angle and Eddie Guerrero were frequent opponents during their time together in WWE, including their memorable clash for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania XX in 2004. However, Angle expressed that he would have loved to face Eddie before his accident when Guerrero was at the peak of his physical health.
"I would have loved to wrestle Eddie before he broke his leg. Don’t get me wrong, I loved working with him afterward; he was absolutely one of my favorites to ever work with," Angle said, emphasizing how much he valued Guerrero as an opponent, even post-injury.
Eddie Guerrero’s car accident occurred on New Year’s Day in 1999. He eventually joined WWE in January 2000, and his crowning career moment came in 2004 when he won the WWE Championship. Tragically, Guerrero passed away in 2005, leaving behind a legacy that continues to be celebrated.
