Jonathan Coachman reveals that he refused to appear in Netflix’s Mr. McMahon

Jonathan Coachman, popularly known as The Coach in WWE, was one of the key figures in the company who served as a backstage interviewer. The show grabbed headlines following the premiere of Mr. McMahon on Netflix on Wednesday, September 25th where many past and new superstars were seen speaking about the former WWE boss, Vince McMahon. However, Coachman recently revealed that he refused Netflix’s call for his appearance in the show.

During his chat at the latest episode of Behind The Turnbuckle podcast, The Coach discussed the Netflix docuseries that has been the talk of the town since its release. “People need to understand, I got called for this doc, and at the time, I was not prepared to go into a doc that I felt was going to be a hit piece. In hindsight, would I have liked to have been in it? I mean, it doesn’t matter to me one way or the other,” Coachman shared.

He went on to add that another major network has approached him for a new WWE documentary project, “Full transparency, another production company on a major network reached out to me yesterday and they’re doing another documentary on the WWE. I don’t know what the network is.”

Further, The Coach revealed that he and McMahon were close during his tenure in WWE. “They’re actually calling me today after we get done with this show about me being in that one because a lot of people don’t realize how close I was to Vince for many years. I was his assistant. I was on his plane. I did all the press conferences. This production company, somehow they found out because this lady knew exactly what I had done with Vince when she emailed me yesterday,” he added.
