Next year, Cena will embark on a final tour, competing full-time before retiring. In a post, Cena shared an inspirational thought with his fans on Christmas Eve.

In an X (formerly known as Twitter) post, Cena explained the value of giving someone their word and how important it is to live up to promises. He said, Make promises. Give your word to people. Put yourself and your word on the line as a way to hold yourself accountable to do your best.”


However, With John Cena set to embark on his farewell tour in 2025, current Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes has expressed his strong interest in facing the legendary performer. During an appearance at Fanatics Fest in New York City, Rhodes was asked during a live chat if he would be interested in facing Cena in the latter's first match upon his return. The American Nightmare enthusiastically responded, stating that it would be an incredible honor to share the ring with Cena.

Rhodes acknowledged the profound impact Cena has had on his career, emphasizing the valuable lessons he learned from the veteran during his previous tenure with WWE. This potential dream match has generated significant excitement among fans, who are eager to see these two iconic superstars clash in the ring.

He said, “We get to live in this era. [...] He is definitely a man of his word. When he says it's farewell, it truly is farewell. So, if you've [not] got the Farewell Tour T-shirt, go and get it. I drove around John for a year, and I learned everything I possibly could. [I] didn't realize I was learning so much at the time. It would be the honor of my life to wrestle John Cena in any capacity. He's the GOAT for a reason.”
