The Janel Grant lawsuit against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis has been revived and has been lifted from the stay due to legal actions. The high-profile case with grave allegations, had been paused for a federal investigation, but it is now set to go through a court hearing. Such progress in the case would be a significant milestone in the ongoing war between the parties, which would now come under much greater scrutiny with a trial. This lawsuit has been one of the most sensational cases in recent years and has already gathered huge attention from the WWE community.
The lawsuit Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis resumes
As the federal investigation was ended, the lawsuit against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis has reportedly resumed. In June, the U.S. Department of Justice requested the court for a temporary pause in the trial to investigate the former WWE boss. Now, the time period has reportedly expired, and the department did not ask for any extension.
With the end of the investigation by the department, the case will move forward with the court proceedings at the Connecticut District Court.
The lawsuit was filed in January by a former WWE employee, Janel Grant against McMahon, WWE, and Laurinaitis accusing sexual assault to sex trafficking. Following the lawsuit, McMahon left the company as WWE Chairman.
The former WWE CEO declined the allegations multiple times. “I intend to vigorously defend myself against these baseless accusations, and look forward to clearing my name,” McMahon previously told The Wall Street Journal in a statement.
Grant's representative issued a statement following the news of the end of federal investigation. “Today, the United States Southern District for New York informed us that they will be letting the stay expire on Janel Grant’s lawsuit against former WWE CEO Vince McMahon, WWE executive John Laurinaitis, and WWE for sexual assault and human trafficking. This decision allows Ms. Grant to proceed with her civil charges against McMahon, Laurinaitis, and WWE while federal prosecutors continue their criminal investigation.”
With the pause lifted from the proceedings of the court, Grant's lawyer Ann Callis responded in the statement. “We are pleased that prosecutors for the Southern District of New York have concluded that they can continue their criminal investigation while we bring forward new evidence in our civil case about the sexual exploitation carried out by Janel Grant’s abusers,” Callis said in the statement.

The case will now move forward as fans have been awaiting trial while Grant and her representatives and lawyers are set to make their case in court.
