Timeless Toni Storm is one of the most popular divas on the AEW roster. However, the wrestler hasn’t been seen on AEW’s programming off late, and there are rumors that she’s not associated with the Jacksonville-based promotion anymore.
Now, considering that AEW is an impressive promotion, the only place most wrestlers go to is WWE, primarily because of its magnitude. That said, there are rumors that Toni Storm might be jumping ship to the Stamford-based promotion, so here’s everything you need to know about it.
Is Toni Storm coming back to WWE?
It’s difficult to say if Toni Storm is making her way to WWE at this point in time. All she has done is said that she’ll be retiring from the AEW and from professional wrestling, the reason behind which is currently unclear.
It’s worth noting that Toni Storm used to be associated with WWE NXT for around two years from 2019 to 2021 before eventually moving onto Tony Khan’s promotion AEW. At this point Toni Storm has held the position of AEW Women’s Champion thrice and she ended her last run by dropping the title to Mariah May. Following this loss, she went AWOL from TV programming.
In an interview with SB Nation, Toni Storm said. ““I’m not used to being a loser. I’ve failed at everything. I lost in AEW, I lost in Japan, I lost in Mexico. This is the last you’ll hear from me again. Enjoy Mariah May as your champion. You can all enjoy that.”
She also said that AEW didn’t need her and that the promotion was better off without Toni Storm, which she repeatedly mentioned during the interview. She also mentioned that Tony Khan does not know about her departure from the company, because she hasn’t spoken to him about it.
Usually, whenever wrestlers come up with such scathing interviews, it’s likely that they’re going to come up with a new gimmick or something, unless you’re looking at the Pipebomb Promo. Toni’s statement wasn’t anywhere close to what that promo was so there’s a slim chance that she’ll be quitting wrestling at this point.
It’s likely that she’ll be back during the next couple of months and start stirring up the women’s locker room once again.
