Recently, WWE Champion CM Punk has reflected and opened up about his professional wrestling journey and if he has any plans to retire anytime soon, like John Cena, in a candid interview.

CM Punk reflects on his wrestling career and in-ring retirement

In a recent interview with Alistair McGeorge of Metro, CM Punk has reflected on his wrestling career and his journey with the company. Punk has also opened up about his in-ring retirement when asked if he has any plans as such soon.
When asked if not wrestling then what he would have chosen. Responding to this, The Best in the World said, “I’d be dead or in jail right now, 100%, and I’ve narrowly avoided jail multiple times. I really don’t know, it’s hard for me to say, “I was interested in this” and “I was interested in that”, “maybe I would have done this.”
He also spoke about how he has always wanted to become a wrestler and never had any big aspirations. He expressed that he never wanted to chase fame. “I wanted to be a wrestler. I never said I wanted to be a millionaire. I never said I wanted to be a WWE superstar. I wanted to be a wrestler. I got a pair of boots and I started wrestling,” Punk said.

He revealed that he does not have any immediate plans to retire from wrestling, unlike John Cena, who is on his retirement tour currently. CM Punk stated, “No, because you never know what’s going to happen. If you had asked me when I was 26 if I would be wrestling when I was 46, I would have been like, “No way.”
Lastly, Punk acknowledged the unpredictability of his life and career. He mentioned that if somebody had asked his 26-year-old self whether he would still be wrestling at 46, he would have strongly denied it.
