Hulk has a reason for getting booed at WWE Raw!

On The Pat McAfee Show, Hulk Hogan discussed his recent appearance at the WWE RAW premiere on Netflix. Pat McAfee expressed surprise that Hogan got booed, saying he hadn't expected that reaction from the audience. Hogan revealed that he had anticipated the negative response.

“Oh, I did. Yeah. There’s the political stuff, but you gotta realize, the last time I ran hard in LA, I was a bad guy. I was Hollywood Hogan. I was riding dirty with the boys, [Kevin] Nash and [Scott] Hall, and we were spray-painting people and crotch-shotting everybody, started the Too Sweet stuff. So last time I was there. I was a heel. But I think the politics had a whole lot to do with it, like you said.” Hulk Hogan said.

Hulk Hogan's persona as Hollywood Hogan was established in 1996 from his traditional all-American hero character. Hogan, with a completely new attitude and look with his villainous persona, created a buzz in the WWE universe. He became the leader of the New World Order (nWo), a group of wrestlers who portrayed themselves as outsiders, rebelling against traditional wrestling.

This character of Hogan marked a change in his career, allowing him to explore the edgier side of his personality. During the Monday Night Wars era, Hollywood Hogan persona was a massive success which contributed to the popularity of World Championship Wrestling.

After his disastrous appearance on January 6, following news that WWE had signed a long-term sponsorship deal with his Real American Beer brand, there haven't been any other showings from Hogan. His likeness was also highly featured in promotional materials for the January 25 episode of Saturday Night's Main Event, though he didn't make it, citing family commitments.
