Tubi, a streaming network owned by Fox has shown interest in showcasing professional wrestling events again. This comes as a surprise because the platform had tried to sign a deal with MLW (Major League Wrestling) in the past, but were pressurized by the WWE to not sign it.
Although it ultimately lead to the Stamford-based promotion shelling out $20 Million dollars in a settlement agreement following a lawsuit, Tubi didn’t show interest in signing up with any wrestling promotions since then.

Which wrestling promotion is Tubi signing up with?

As of now, it’s unclear which promotion Tubi is signing up with but it’s most likely to be an unnamed promotion that’s headed by Hollywood star and former WWE employee Freddie Prinze Jr.
It’s also worth noting that Fox, the network that owns Tubi, currently has the airing rights to WWE SmackDown which they air every Friday. The contract is set to expire later this year, following which the Blue Brand will move to the USA Network.
It’s being assumed that Tubi will start streaming once Fox’s contract with WWE ends to avoid any legal conflict, and an issue like the last time. Professional wrestling aside, Tubi has also signed deals with DANZ to stream MMA and Boxing events on their platform.
The platform is yet to make a comment on the professional wrestling organization that they’re signing up with, but the chances of it being the one by Prinze Jr. is incredibly high. The Hollywood actor has been in the forefront of a lot of WWE-related talking points these days.

He recently spoke up about how John Cena did not want him to be associated with the company at all, and completely ignored him on their first interaction. Although he was associated with the Stamford-based company for a short period of time, his run ins with John Cena have left a sour taste in his mouth.
With his wrestling promotion yet to become available, it will be interesting to see the number of stars that sign up for him, and how the entire fanbase receives the promotion once it kicks off.
