Shelton Benjamin made AEW debut, joins MVP

Shelton Benjamin who was released from WWE in a wave of cuts in September 2023 has officially joined AEW after his short tenure in the independent circle. Benjamin’s debut in the company happened after MVP debuted at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam. With MVP’s debut, he gave his business card to Prince Nana and showed his interest in potentially talking business with Swerve Strickland.

In the latest episode of AEW Dynamite on October 2, MVP appeared in a backstage segment to have a chat with Renee Paquette. MVP revealed that he has a big announcement to make, “Yes, I do have a big announcement I’d like to make” adding that it was the perfect moment to do so as it was the fifth anniversary of Dynamite.

He was interrupted by Prince Nana, who voiced his frustration with MVP and mentioned he was ready to “lace up” his boots for him. MVP responded by saying he didn't handle complaints and then introduced Shelton Benjamin as his business partner and the president of their complaint department. The crowd erupted with loud cheers as the camera moved to show Benjamin and MVP said, “I’d like to introduce you and the AEW viewing audience to my business partner and the President of our Complaint Department, Mr. Shelton Benjamin.” The duo later teased Prince Nana and Benjamin took his coffee mug away.

Following his debut on the brand, the new All Elite star took to X sharing the video with a short response, “It’s official Shelton Benjamin is @AEW ,” he wrote. In WWE, Benjamin was a WWE United States Champion and Intercontinental Champion with three-time Tag Team Championships to his credit.
