As reported by TMZ,
Nikki Bella’s husband, Artem Chingvintsev, has been arrested and booked for domestic violence. The couple were in Napa, California, when the event took place, and the police have since arrested and booked Artem into the Napa County Jail. TMZ has also been able to get their hands on additional information regarding the situation at Nikki Bella’s place.
It is being reported that the alleged victim has been very open with the investigators. However, at the time of writing, it is still unclear whether Bella is the alleged victim or if it’s someone else. Another news outlet has reported that Nikki Bella is not the only witness to this incident, which suggests that the alleged violence took place in the presence of a few people.
Why has Nikki Bella's husband been arrested?
According to a report by TMZ, Chigvintsev was taken in for felony corporal injury. In such a case, an arrest is made when there is a visible injury to someone’s spouse or another cohabitant. If this turns out to be true, it will be safe to assume that some kind of violence definitely took place. According to booking records by POST, Artem’s bail has been set at $25,000.
It is hard to imagine that such a heinous act could take place just three days after we saw Artem and Nikki Bella celebrating their anniversary. The two started off strong when they met on Dancing With the Stars back in 2019. After dating for three years, Bella and Artem tied the knot in 2022. Now, it seems like their relationship has fallen apart.
Nikki and Artem have a son together named Matteo. News outlets have been trying to make sense of the situation, but both Nikki and Artem’s families have refused to provide any comment on the situation. TMZ has also reported that the victim in this situation has asked for complete confidentiality, so it is highly unlikely that we will get to see any major developments over the next few hours. Currently, the Sheriff's office is making plans to discuss the case with prosecutors. It is quite possible that criminal charges will be pressed against Chigvintsev.
