History has been made at WWE's latest special event taking place in MSG, Roadblock, with the crowning of NXT's first-ever double champion in the women's division.
WWE presented its next special event in the World's Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden in New York City, WWE Roadblock. The event featured some of NXT's brightest talents competing in top matches. The event was capped off with a huge 'Title vs Title' match between NXT Women's Champion Giulia and NXT Women's North American Champion Stephanie Vaquer. As the dust settled, the fans witnessed the coronation of a first-ever double champion in the NXT women's division.
Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia collided in a high-stakes match at WWE Roadblock
Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer became prime additions to the WWE NXT roster last year. The two international sensations quickly ascended to the top of the women's division. As 2025 began, Stephanie and Giulia both won championships in NXT and in their respective bid to prove supremacy; a match with both their titles on the line was set for Roadblock.
The audience was on their feet to witness this blockbuster showdown between two women who have wrestled all over the world and were close friends. It was a highly captivating bout as both women refused to back down. They went back and forth and landed some incredible moves and spots throughout the entire match. Moreover, the match also saw huge nearfalls and loud chants for both Giulia and Stephanie.
As the match came close to the final bell, Stephanie Vaquer landed two still kicks and SBD to take down Giulia. She covered her for the pinfall and scored the win. With her victory, Stephanie Vaquer became both the NXT Women's and North American Champion at WWE Roadblock.
There had been reports heading into the match that Giulia was dealing with an injury. The 'Title vs Title' was put in place to write her off television to take time to heal. Moreover, the report seem true following her loss at WWE Roadblock. With Stephanie Vaquer now at the top of the women's division with both prizes, the reign of The Dark Angel is upon WWE NXT. So it will be interesting to see her run as a double champion.
