Dominik Mysterio Shocks Fans by Nearly Dropping His Villainous Persona to Praise WWE Star

Dominik Mysterio, once loved and hated by the WWE Universe, finally found his calling as a heel after betraying his previous partner, Rhea Ripley. Now alongside Liv Morgan, he's been causing chaos as a second-generation superstar with attitude. It wasn't so long ago when Dominik was allowed to talk about his legendary father, Rey Mysterio, in an interview for Logan Paul's podcast, *IMPAULSIVE*. While Dominik gave Rey a little credit, he didn't hold back from taking shots at him to show just how confident he's become.

Dominik Mysterio opens up about Rey Mysterio

Dominik started wrestling back in 2018, training with his father and Jay Lethal. What is interesting about his father, Rey is that he had a long career. He started training at the age of 14 and wrestled in some major promotions like AAA, ECW, and WCW. The legacy left by Rey is huge, although Dominik feels he is already surpassing that legacy.

Asked if he wanted to give his father credit for his career during the podcast, Dominik acknowledged Rey's accomplishments but couldn't help degrade them a little. He mentioned that at this age, Rey was dealing with multiple knee surgeries, while he, at 27, is way healthier, taller, better-looking, and on track to being the greatest Mysterio of all time.

As he said, "I'm not taking anything away from what he's done. but four years into his career, he wasn't doing what I'm doing now. I'm better than him already." Dominik quite confidently made the statement that although Rey has undoubtedly contributed much to wrestling and the Latino community, he is going to take the Mysterio legacy to a whole different level.


Now in his career, Dominik has already made a big milestone. In 2021 he became the youngest WWE Superstar to win the Tag Team Championship alongside his father, but they lost their titles 63 days later to The Usos. Dominik is currently part of a storyline with Judgment Day, including Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest. Fans are enjoying Dominik's heel persona and are excited to see him go up against Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley at Bash in Berlin. In the upcoming event, Dominik will team up with Liv Morgan to take on the former World Champion Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley in a Mixed Gender Tag Team Match.
