Does US President Donald Trump deserve to be in the WWE Hall of Fame? Veteran wrestler gives opinion

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has been associated with WWE for a long time. For his contributions and efforts towards the global juggernaut, Trump earned a place in the WWE Hall of Fame's celebrity wing in 2013. However, fellow Hall of Famer and wrestling veteran Jesse 'The Body' Ventura clearly stated that, in his opinion, Trump did not deserve that prestigious accolade.

In the recent edition of the Independent Americans podcast, the former Minnesota Governor vented his anger regarding Trump being in the Hall of Fame, while other legitimate wrestlers like Ken Patera are not there. He said, “He’s in the wrestling Hall of Fame. I’m angry—very angry. And here’s why. I have friends who are not in the Hall of Fame. One in particular, Olympian Ken Patera… Well, guess what? He’s not in the Hall of Fame, and Trump is.”

According to Jesse Ventura, Donald Trump hosting WWE's premier show, WrestleMania 5 and 6, was the sole reason for his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, which made millions for the company. “You know why he got in? Because he provided us two buildings. I think WrestleMania Five and Six, where he probably made millions renting us his buildings. And for that, Vince McMahon puts him in the Hall of Fame. It’s a disgrace. I’ve almost gone public and said I’m resigning from the Hall of Fame because Trump is in it and he doesn’t qualify.”

While Ventura had his opinion, the debate around Trump's induction is questionable. He has not just hosted WrestleManias in his properties, but has also been a significant part of television programming at one point. It was the memorable Battle of the Billionaires feud with Vince McMahon in 2007 that garnered huge attention for WWE at the expense of Trump.

While Trump might not have wrestled an actual match, he did deliver a clothesline to Vince McMahon during the Battle of the Billionaires match between Bobby Lashley and Umaga at WrestleMania 23. The moment became iconic and is spoken about to this day. Moreover, he has made numerous appearances on WWE's flagship shows and at outside events.

As Donald Trump is a member of the WWE Hall of Fame celebrity wing, there can be a certain level of disagreement with Jesse Ventura's comments that he does not deserve that accolade. In our opinion, Trump has made significant contributions over the years to earn a place in the Hall of Fame.
