Vince McMahon reportedly tried to make advances towards Ashley Massaro for a romantic relationship and instead ruined her career after being refused by her.
Vince McMahon has been one of the most powerful, influential, and controversial figures in the world of professional wrestling. Over the years, he has been at the forefront of WWE as its CEO and Chairman. However, the serious sexual misconduct allegations by former WWE employee Janel Grant led to his exit from the parent company, TKO Group Holdings.
In regard to his history with women, McMahon reportedly had some extra material affairs in his life and even onscreen moments with multiple female WWE stars. Moreover, Vince was reportedly also known to make advances towards certain females in the locker room.
What happened with Vince McMahon and Ashley Massaro?
Ashley Massaro was a top prospect for WWE's women's division in the mid-2000s. Her first major storyline was with WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus and she was well regarded for her in-ring acumen. Moreover, Massaro also graced the cover of playboy once and had been a mainstay for WWE for a while.
As revealed by her attorney in the Vince McMahon Netflix documentary, the former WWE Chairman and CEO tried to make advances towards Ashley Massaro. When she declined, McMahon was hell-bent on ruining her WWE career. From then on, he would book Massaro in embarrassing segments, make her lose matches, and tarnish all the hard work she did to become a top attraction of the WWE women's division.
Furthermore, Ashley Massaro had also blamed WWE for not taking any action after she was forced into a sexual encounter during one of WWE's visits to Kuwait for a show. All this led to her untimely exit from WWE in 2008. Sadly, Ashley met a tragic end when she was found dead in 2019, with outlets reporting it to be a suicide. While the reason has not been uncovered yet, her turmoil run in WWE was a sad part of her life indeed.
As for Vince McMahon, he is still under investigation in regards to the Janel Grant lawsuit slapped against him and former WWE EVP John Laurinitus. He is been majorly out of the public eye, but has been making a few appearances, most recently at the Super Bowl event. Moreover, he is reportedly working to form a new entertainment and embarking on the next chapter of his life post-WWE to possibly create another revolution in the industry,
