The rivalry between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens has been the focal point of SmackDown for a few months now. Their feud was taken to another level at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event when Rhodes controversially defeated The Prize Fighter to retain the Undisputed WWE Title. In retaliation, Owens attacked Rhodes after the match and laid him out with the devastating Piledriver.

Not only that, Owens also took off with the Winged Eagle WWE title and has been parading around with the championship since. At a recent WWE live event, Rhodes and Owens met again, and The American Nightmare avoided another catastrophe at the hands of his rival.

What happened at the end of the match between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens at the recent WWE Live Event?

WWE recently hosted one of its live events in Jacksonville, Florida. The show was headlined by the match between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens in a Steel Cage. Following a hard-fought battle between the two foes, it was Rhodes who escaped the cage a millisecond before Owens to retain his title.

In the process, as Cody celebrated inside the ring and even recovered the Winged Eagle WWE title that Kevin Owens had in his possession, The Prize Fighter launched another sneak attack on him, much like he did at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Owens attempted to injure Rhodes again with the Piledriver. However, this time, The American Nightmare reversed the attempt and nailed Owens with his finisher, Cross Rhodes, to stand tall at the end of the WWE Live Event.

Despite their huge clash at the WWE Live Event, the tensions between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens seem to be far from over. Moreover, a previous report stated that the feud is expected to continue further in 2025. This was the reason that KO got physical with WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque at the end of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event to elevate his status further as a heel.

With the feud expected to continue, this could lead to another televised encounter between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens for the Undisputed WWE title that could possibly happen at RAW’s upcoming debut on Netflix, which is billed to be a major show for WWE.
