NEW DELHI: The latest episode of WWE SmackDown faced a notable decline in viewership and key demographic ratings, a trend attributed to the show airing on FS1 on the Friday after Thanksgiving. While the numbers dipped, AEW Dynamite technically outperformed SmackDown, prompting
Chris Jericho to engage in some playful trolling.
AEW Dynamite amassed 845,000 viewers with a 0.26 rating, surpassing
WWE SmackDown, which garnered 789,000 viewers and a 0.24 rating.
Jericho, always one to revel in the banter, took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share the news, stating, "But I thought the sky was falling!!??"
However, it's crucial to note that the tweet Jericho shared contained inaccurate information. FS1 and TBS, the networks for SmackDown and Dynamite, respectively, don't reach the same number of households.
Recent data from Sports Business Journal indicates that FS1 was available in approximately 71.375 million homes as of July 2023. On the other hand, TBS, which airs AEW Dynamite, boasted a reach of around 78.842 million homes in 2022 but has since experienced a decline of about three million households.
