Stephen Amell is one of the few celebrities who’s not only made an appearance in the
WWE but has had the opportunity to fight against a wrestler in a WWE ring too, that too at a Premium Live Event. Apart from the WWE, he’s also made multiple appearances at promotions like Ring of Honor and AEW.
On a recent episode of the Insight podcast, Stephen Amell was looking back to one of his most popular and celebrated fights of his career, the one at the 2015 WWE SummerSlam, where he emerged victorious.
Stephen Amell talks about his most popular SummerSlam 2015 bout
On an episode of Insight, Amell was talking about his match on WWE SummerSlam 2015. The match had a considerable amount of buildup and he finally faced off against King Barett and Cody Rhodes who was then known as Stardust. For this tag match his teammate was Neville, who is currently dominating AEW alongside the Blackpool Combat Club.
On the podcast, he said, "I wouldn't recommend to anybody to have their first match at a premium live event in f***ing Brooklyn. I was so nervous that I forgot to get in the ring."

For the match, he was being assisted by RoadDogg, a veteran in the world of professional wrestling, and was being trained by Cody Rhodes, who was already on his way to being a celebrated wrestler in the industry.

"I was terrified of messing up the springboard ... I even said to him right before the match, 'Do we have to start with the springboard?'"
Amell and Neville emerged victorious in the match, and thanks to the high flying spots that were present in the match, it’s well remembered even to this day. Despite having a distinguished career in acting, Stephen Amell has expressed the interest to return to the ring and face off against some of the most celebrated wrestlers in the industry.
