An epic Women's World Championship between Liv Morgan and Zelina Vega

July’s first WWE RAW saw a pretty World Championship fight between Liv Morgan and Zelina Vega in one of the early contests of the evening. The build-up to this contest has been pretty intense to begin with, which is shown by the actions of the two divas in the ring. While the entire match was pretty electric, there was no shortage of off-stage drama as well, making it highly entertaining for the viewers.

WWE Raw’s World Championship fight between Liv Morgan and Zelina Vega analyzed

Defending champion Liv Morgan started the fight in a strong fashion, but Zelina was up for the task. In fact, Zelina even managed to land a Moonsault, although Liv escaped the subsequent pinfall. While the two women were going hammer and tongs within the ring, something else was happening outside.

Both Dominik and Rey Mysterio were present outside the ring right before their match, which was later on July 1st’s WWE Raw. This eventually became the deciding factor as Liv, having survived plenty of Zelina’s attacks, witnessed Rey pushing down Dom on the ringside. She decided to concentrate her next effort on Rey, rather than trying to fight with her in-ring opponent.


As Liv hit Rey with a Baseball Slide to defend Dom, Zelina took advantage of the situation to land a 619. But her opponent managed to survive the pinfall, and at this moment came the ultimate twist.

Dominik pushed a steel chair towards Zelina, asking her to use that on Liv (apparently). However, Zelina refused to follow suit and instead hit Dom with the steel chair. This was the perfect opportunity for Liv to hit ObLIVion and finish the contest in her favor. It’s pretty clear that Dom’s interference created an advantage for Liv, even if he hadn’t meant to do that originally.

Hence, Liv Morgan is still the Women’s World Champion after the conclusion of WWE Raw on July 1st. However, this feud is anything but over, and it only deepens into something even more chaotic in the days to come. If anything, Zelina stamped her authority on this match, and did manage to prove herself as a top contender.

There could be another showdown in the days to come, and Dom’s interference intensifies the feud between him and his dad as well. Once the match was over, Liv seemed more interested over the fact that Dom decided to help her, rather than celebrate the win and successful defense of her championship.
