“An absolute legend in her own right” – Former WWE Star Mercedes Mone Talks About Natalya’s Influence

AEW star Mercedes Mone, formerly known as Sasha Banks in WWE, recently shared her thoughts about WWE's Natalya. Natalya has spent nearly 20 years in wrestling and is known for helping younger female wrestlers, especially those in WWE NXT. Mone expressed her gratitude for Natalya's support and guidance during her time in WWE. As Mone embarks on her journey in AEW, she appreciates the positive influence Natalya had on her career and development as a wrestler.

Mercedes Mone recently shared her thoughts about WWE's Natalya in her newsletter, "Mone Mag." Mone credited the former SmackDown Women's Champion for her guidance and positive feedback throughout her journey in WWE.
Mercedes Mone Stated :
"Let me start with Natalya, an absolute legend in her own right. She's been wrestling longer than me and has helped shape so many careers, including mine. My first dark matches, some of my first NXT matches — Natalya was right there with me. I still remember being in the ring with her, and she would whisper things like 'You're doing great' or 'Amazing job,' honestly, that meant the world to me. Those little moments of encouragement, they stick with you. When I step in the ring with less-experienced talent, I try to pass that same energy along. Natalya debuted in WWE in 2008 after training in Deep South Wrestling. She first appeared on WWE SmackDown where she showed off her wrestling skills. Throughout her career, Natalya has achieved many milestones, including winning the Divas Championship at the "WWE Night of Champions" in 2010 and the SmackDown Women’s Championship in 2017. She also won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship with Tamina Snuka in 2020, showcasing her talent in both singles and tag team competitions.

Natalya returned to WWE this past September, joining forces with Zelina Vega and Lyra Valkyria to take down the Pure Fusion Collective on WWE Raw. She was away from the ring for nearly three months due to contract talks and taking time off for her mental health. Meanwhile, after leaving WWE, Mercedes Mone is now part of AEW, where she is gaining more recognition and popularity through her hard work and dedication to wrestling.
