It’s worth noting that Big E was recently kicked out of his faction the New Day, after staying away from official TV programming for a considerable amount of time. It’ll be interesting to see when he returns, but it does set up some interesting possibilities and angles for the New Day to explore while he’s absent from the company.

Why was Big E away from WWE TV Programming?

Big E was put out of action in late 2022 after a devastating injury left him in the hospital for quite some time. During a match on SmackDown, Big E landed on his neck after a badly executed German suplex.

While he did send a positive reaction from the hospital, his diagnosis was rather problematic, because doctors were saying that he had broken his neck. It’s also worth noting that his removal from the New Day was likely because he’s still not cleared to wrestle in the ring, and that he might not have signed a new contract with WWE either.

Big E’s been the powerhouse of the New Day and has had some really iconic matches with the trio. And now that he’s been removed from the stable, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston are all by themselves. If he does return in the near future, it’s likely that he’ll end up feuding with both Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston upon his return.

Neck injuries can be extremely deadly and wrestlers being put out of action for good hasn’t been unheard of before. One of the most notable names who’s been sidelined because of a neck injury in the WWE is Stone Cold Steve Austin. So, it’ll not be the first time someone’s been sidelined because of their injury.

On the December 2 episode of RAW, Big E was welcomed to the ring with Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston, who were participating in a celebration. However, the celebration was slowly turning out to be a mockery of Big E, where the two remaining members of the stable mocked him and accused him of not checking in with New Day for all the time he was away from the company.

It was very disheartening to see how this all turned out for New Day’s Powerhouse. It’ll be worth seeing how things will pan out for the remaining members of the stable and who they’ll be feuding with, especially with Netflix moving onto RAW. The key highlight of this entire debacle is still Big E’s injury, and the world will closely be watching to see if and when he returns to the ring.
