WWE’s Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Secures a Major Milestone with Red One
According to
Deadline,
Red One was viewed for a total of 50 Million times ever since it made it to Amazon Prime. The movie was initially supposed to release on Amazon Prime only, but MGM, the producers behind the movie, changed plans at the last minute, pushing for a theatrical release before it finally made its way to the online streaming platforms.
The previous record holder was
Road House which took two weeks to hit the 50 Million milestone. Overall, The Rock has had a successful year, and more specifically a month, because of his previous movie
Moana 2, where he voiced Maui. The movie has grossed $717.8 Million worldwide at the time of writing this article.
Speaking about

She said, “Given the audience response to Red One both in theaters and on Prime Video, the film will clearly be a perennial holiday favorite for years to come. Every film is different, and we are so grateful for the partnership with our filmmakers in collectively finding the right strategy to get this film in front of the widest possible audience.”
She further added, “With Red One, there was no doubt that strategy needed to include a theatrical release and associated marketing campaign, which drove audiences to theaters and generated awareness for the film with viewers who would ultimately tune in on Prime Video. It’s rewarding to see our plan pay off for customers, and we are incredibly thankful to the entire filmmaking team and cast who helped make it happen.”
With these projects successfully behind him, it’s likely that The Rock will be preparing for a WWE comeback, especially now that RAW will be moving to Netflix on January 2025. It will be interesting to see how he’ll make his way into the ongoing Bloodline feud, because he’s a major player in that storyline too.
