Vidhi, Vishesh triumph in super series doubles

AHMEDABAD: Vidhi Jani and Vishesh Patel have bagged doubles title at AITA Super Series in girls and boys U-12 doubles category respectively in Bangalore.
Vidhi Jani, a 6th standard student of HB Kapadia school partnering with Hetvee Chowdhary, was seeded 3rd in the tournament and beat Naisha Shrivastav and Sanjana Shrimala of Karnataka 6-7(2), 6-4, 10-7 in the final.In the semifinal Vidhi, a Shaishya Tennis Academy trainee with her partner Hetvee, easily won against Yana Dhamija and Tanushita Galvetti 6-3, 6-1. In the quarter-finals Vidhi and Hetvee beat Jasha M and Suhita M 6-4, 5-7, 10-5.
Another Shaishya Tennis Academy trainee Vishesh Patel with Akarsh Govaker upset top seeded Udit Gogoi and Anmay Devraj 7-6(5), 7-6(3).
In the semi-final the 7th grade student at Asia English School Drive-in, Vishesh with Akarsh beat Tharakarar and Pritesh 6-2, 6-4. In quarter-final the second seed pair of Vishesh and Akarsh easily won against Monil and Ronil 6-1, 6-2.
Vidhi is currently ranked 8th in India in Girls Under 12 and Vishesh is currently ranked 6th in India in Boys Under 12 after the latest AITA rankings updated last week.
