"The feeling today is surreal. Did not experience such happiness even when I won the Dronacharya Award. Ending our campaign on a high note on Teacher's Day is the best gift I could ask for. I am proud of all of them," the national coach said.

India shuttlers won four medals, including two gold, a silver and a bronze. Krishna Nagar and Pramod Bhagat won gold while Suhas Yathiraj bagged a silver and Manoj Sarkar settled for bronze.

Khanna though said that his expectations were higher.

"My expectations were even higher. I feel Tarun Dhillon and Palak Kohli could have done better. Suhas was in a dominant position to win a gold for us, but had to settle for a silver. The badminton contingent was very well prepared and that is why I was hoping for more. Having said that, I am happy with the performance and we will all strive to do even better the next time," he said.
