NEW DELHI: Top seed Sunil Kumar Sipaeya made short work of Pakistan's Jalil Khan, outplaying him 6-1, 6-1 to advance to the second round of the $10,000 ITF tournament in Lahore on Monday.
Also making the pre-quarterfinals were Vikram B Reddy, Rupesh Roy and Yannick Nelord.
Reddy had to fight hard but he emerged winner, beating local favourite Yasir Khan 7-5, 6-4 in his first round of the hard court event.

Rupesh blanked Tanveer Ashiq 6-0, 6-0 to ease into the next round. However, Yannick had to dig deep into his reserves to beat Ireland's Mohammed Mohazebania 1-6, 7-6(3), 6-2.
However, it was curtains for Mandeep Yadav who lost 2-6, 3-6 to fourth seed Hsin-Han Lee from Chinese Taipei.
Deepinder Bains fell prey to Kazakhstan's eighth seed Syrym Abdukhalikov, losing the tie 1-6, 4-6.
Rohan Gide squandered the lead to lose 6-2, 4-6, 6-7 (6) to Pakistan's Shahzad Khan.
