MUMBAI: Seeded players had it easy and made short work of their rivals in the second round of the singles matches in the Ramesh Desai Memorial Sub Junior Nationals (under-16) tennis tournament at the MSLTA courts, on Tuesday.
In boys' actions, top seed Shaikh Abdulla of Hyderabad brushed aside Maharashtra's Nikhil Kannan 6-2, 6-2, while 2nd seed Fatehdeep Singh of Punjab outplayed Maharashtra's Jayesh Pungaliya 6-3, 6-1.

Unseeded Abhimanyu Dakwale of Maharashtra also advanced to the third round with a 5-7, 6-0, 6-2 win over Delhi's Rahul Singh. Among the girls, Karnataka's top seed Nilsson Ann made a slow start before getting past Yuden Shyodhi 7-5, 6-2.
