This Davis Cup will mark the final professional tournament in Nadal's illustrious 23-year career.

The 22-time Grand Slam champion has been grappling with injuries, leading to his decision to retire.

Nadal's participation in the singles rubbers remained uncertain until Ferrer's official announcement on Tuesday afternoon.

Nadal's last official singles match was at the Paris Olympics in July, where he was defeated in the second round.
