MUMBAI: Delhi's
Sumit Nagal and Maharashtra's Snehadevi Reddy achieved a double crown each by winning the boys and girls singles' titles respectively in the Ramesh Desai memorial junior (Under 16) tennis nationals on Saturday.
The seventh seeded Nagal emerged giant killer by toppling the top seed Abdulla Shaikh of Andhra Pradesh 6-4, 6-4 in a surprisingly one-sided boys' final.
Yesterday, he won the doubles' title partnering Sahil Deshmukh of Maharashtra while girls' second seeded Snehadevi also scored an identical 6-4, 6-4 win over the third seeded rival C Sai Samitha of Tamil Nadu in the final to achieve a double, after having clinched the girls' doubles title yesterday with Karnataka's Dhruti Venugopal.
