PUNE: Indian tennis will have another big name associated with it if plans fall into place. Former world No. 1 Jimmy Connors will visit the city next week as part of an initial survey to seek possibilities of launching an academy in the country.
And if talks with their India counterparts click, the winner of eight Grand Slams singles titles and two Grand Slam doubles titles would have his academy here.
"People have evinced interest in starting an academy. So we have invited Connors and are exploring the possibilities depending on land availability," Jayant Pawar, director of Solaris Sports and Leisure told TOI.
