of the year, the 22nd-ranked German won 7-6 (7/5), 6-7 (0/7), 7-6 (7/5) in 3 hours and 16 minutes against the world number 81 from Slovenia.

It was 34-year-old Kerber's first title of the season and 14th of her career. Her last clay trophy was in Stuttgart in 2016.
