6-2, 6-0 in the last 16.

Former US Open champion Stephens, who lost the 2018 French Open final to

Simona Halep

, will next face fellow American Coco Gauff on Tuesday.

"Americans in Paris... I think it'll be a great match and I'm looking forward to it," said Stephens who is currently 64th in the WTA rankings.

Teichmann, who had never reached the second week of a major before, was no match for Stephens who romped to victory in just 63 minutes.
